The Center for Quantum Optical Science (CQOS) is affiliated to the School of Physics, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. The research of CQOS spans a wide range from fundamental questions to applications in light science. We aim for the understanding of the fundamental processes in light-matter interaction and the development of cutting edge quantum technologies. Currently, it consists of three divisions with different research focuses, including quantum optics and atomic physics, quantum information and technology, and quantum photonics at the nanoscale.
Quantum Optics and Atomic Physics Division
The Quantum Optics and Atomic Physics Division of the CQOS have been established since 1991. We are a team of dedicated researchers,including Professor Ying Wu, young faculty members, and master, PhD students. The research in our group focuses on theoretical studies of light-matter interaction and bridge the gap between basic physical science and engineering applications.

The Quantum Nanophotonics group

The Quantum Nanophotonics group was founded in June 2015 as one division of the Center for Quantum Optical Science at HUST. The research in our group aims to address a range of fundamental questions in light-matter interaction at the nanometer scale and bridge the gap between basic physical science and engineering applications. We have been combining concepts and techniques from quantum electrodynamics, laser spectroscopy, cryogenics and nano-optics. Currently, our research activities concern optical detection, nano/microscopy, spectroscopy and control of single quantum systems in solid at ambient and at cryogenic temperatures. We are a team of dedicated researchers, including young faculty members, postdocs, visiting scholars and research students.
